Here’s to a happier, sunnier and safer summer ❤️🌞🌼
Great pub What a lovely warm welcome at this inn. Called in with 3 dogs after a walk, on an obviously very busy day. Had an excellent snack lunch, delicious sandwiches, huge!! We were sad that we were not staying locally so that we could sample, what we suspect would be, delicious Indian specials. A great example of a town pub, not fancy but exactly what you want to find.
Warm friendly pub with great beer
We had the Indian Platter and the food was excellent the onion Bhaji are some of the best we have had. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. Good well kept real ales as well.
The BEST samosas, Bhagi and curry along with a fab selection of unusual German and Italian beers
Lovely friendly pub with great food, fabulous selection of real ales and well trained attentive staff. If you’re lucky enough to find a table in the lovely beer garden on a sunny afternoon you really won’t want to leave! Highly recommended 😊
Lovely welcoming hosts, nicely furnished, cosy snug bar and a great selection of drinks
Warm and hospital Friendly staff and excellent food from the spicy bean burgers to the delicious currys.
The back garden is a delight to sit out in with a drink or food in the summer.
I enjoyed an excellent authentic curry for my birthday meal and the dessert of chocolate fudge cake melted in my mouth. The birthday candle and song was a lovely added special touch.
As we are locals we do not stay overnight in the bedrooms.
nice pint and friendly service
comfy rooms, delicious food, perfect hosts!
Gorgeous (massive) comfortable room, with 4-poster bed, fireplace and lounger, with huge bathroom too! Everything you’d need, including 2 huge bay windows overlooking the High Street, to watch the world go by 🙂
And, YOU MUST experience the homemade curry 😋
Great Place to Stay - Large Comfortable Room Stayed for 3 nights at the Old Well Inn. Very comfortable large bedroom with a King Size double bed. Plenty of wardrobe space with hangers. Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was also made very welcome. The hotel is well situated in the center of the town with free street parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts good and plenty of it. Nice bar areas with a very good beer garden at the rear. I have read the earlier review about the TV not working and when we were there it did not work due to the fact that the local transmitter had burnt down, not the fault and out of the control of the Hotel, no one in the town or surrounding areas could get a signal. I have read the pathetic moaning of previous reviewer and all I can say is if all you go away for is to watch TV then you may as well stay at home. Get a life!
Livery rooms, very friendly and good beer
Superb pub with excellent cask ales and an eclectic menu - usual pub stuff but also ‘Indian’ food. Gorgeous back garden backing onto old castle walls attracting the sunshine, especially at lunchtime. An all round excellent place.
A really, really good pub Lovely, comfortable, unpretentious pub, friendly service, excellent pint of Timothy Taylor's. Four other real ales on the bar. Great oasis in which to take advantage of the weekend unexpectedly beginning an afternoon early and watch the world go by. 🙂
Had a really nice meal here after a walk. Great food & beer. Friendly staff.
